I meant for the future. Red wings and their prospects pool is lacking in those areas.

Agree. But at pick 15 we should expect that the kid won’t be a factor this season or maybe even next or maybe never. ITS PICK 15 folks. Yup I see its S.Y. doing the choosing but there IS risk involved at 15 no matter how smart you are. Hopefully he has an unexpected player again in mind who may contribute this season. If not, perhaps he can trade 15 for a player who can step right up. I hope that’s the plan.

The Red Wings still need that elite talent and a power forward in their top six. This draft seems like more of a gamble than usual. Some players with elite traits mixed with flaws. The typical safe Yzerman pick would be Brandsegg-Nygard. The bold defiant pick would be Trevor Connelly. Let’s just hope Yzerman can work some magic.

I like this prospect. Grew 5 inches and it looks like he adjusted just fine.
