With all the bait Yzerman has you can be sure he’ll use some of it..how and for what only he knows. BUT It it were me I wouldn’t let an opportunity to move up in this draft get past me. Try to get something as low as 5 maybe. Anything above that might cost too much.

Is Eiserman going to be available at 15, or are we talking trade up? I too like the sound of him. Was sold on him since around christmas time when I first heard of him and would still take him now but everywhere I read, they say he wont still be on the board @ 15.

Nice thoughts. I wonder if Yzerman pulls off or goes after a trade. I do not see Zegras as part of Anaheim’s future. But I am just a fan. I think he can learn to play better D for sure. But his O talent would help the Wings. Not sure what the Wings should give up for him. I think the Wings can get a solid forward (in place of that need) in this 2024 draft. I would take Cole Eiserman.

As Lalonde said he was getting chances AND playing some responsible D. AND with Kane on the ice…someone has to play his D. No coincidence that after Kane arrived DeBrincat’s scoring fell off.

THAT is the issue with Kane. If he’s on the team they’ll change their game to accommodate his skills. If he’s gone then you back-fill with say Nate D. in his place and probably DeBrincat and Danielson both catch fire. BUT its mighty hard to say no to having Kane’s magic out there disrupting the opponent’s D. He’s HOF unique. He sells tickets too.

The Wings are in a good spot with incoming D talent which may relieve a smidgen of the responsibility from DeBrincat et al. That, plus some fresh forward legs ought to make them a better team with Kane or not than they were this past season.

More than ever a strong Defense wins cups. If you squint your eyes a little you can see that sort of defense about to emerge for the Wings and their forwards including DeBrincat can hardly wait for the following offensive feast to begin.
