Also, too many big contracts for underperforming players – especially on D. I give SY no more than a C+ and don’t see an improvement over last year’s record unless the young players over perform

The Perron choice was between him and Berggren. Neither Motte nor Fischer’s signing had anything to do with whether they re-signed Perron.

Also, there is approximately zero chance that Yzerman was going to give Perron two years, even at the discounted price that Ottawa got him for.
