I’m not sold on the Fabbri for Taresenko flip. Fabs is 28 and Teresenkos best years are behind him. If Fabbri stays healthy i predict at least as many points as Teresenko. Also, too many big contracts for underperforming players – especially on D. I give SY no more than a C+ and don’t see an improvement over last year’s record unless the young players over perform

No one is perfect, including SY. ( Copp, Holl). Without getting PK he doesn’t lsnd VT and DRW don’t have a playoff caliber top 6. Stamps isn’t going to be worth what he got paid at the end of the contract. SY did great

Ottawa signed Perron for 2 years/8 mil. 4 mil AAV.

The Wings signed Tyler Motte to a one-year deal, they did not retain him or anyone named Motta, though Olli Maatta is still under contract.

The Perron choice was between him and Berggren. Neither Motte nor Fischer’s signing had anything to do with whether they re-signed Perron.

Also, there is approximately zero chance that Yzerman was going to give Perron two years, even at the discounted price that Ottawa got him for.
