The Red Wings’ most intriguing prospects all seemed to step up in Detroit’s 5-1 win in Game 1. Michael Brandsegg-Nygard had an assist and showed the potential that persuaded the Red Wings to draft him in the first round. Carter Gylander, looking to cement his place among Detroit’s prospect goalies, was effective with 17-save performance. Nate Danielson, a candidate to play in Detroit’s top six someday, was credited with six shots on goal. Here is the Game 1 boxscore.

Red Wings In Case You Missed It
Left wing Michael Brandsegg-Nygard earns praise from Dan Watson in his opening game of the NHL Prospect Series against the Dallas Stars.
Speedy Amadeus Lombardi was a late add to the Red Wings’ Prospect team in Traverse City. Detroit are never disappointed to see more of Lombardi. He’s the man with cool name and overflowing energy on the ice.
The early reviews on Jakub Rychlovsky are quite favorable. He scored in Game 1 against Dallas, cleaning up a puck in the slot.

Red Wings Season
Alexandre Doucet has much to prove in 2024-25. He played 54 games for Toledo and only six for Grand Rapids in his first pro season as a Red Wings’ prospect. Doucet is off to a good start this season with a pair of goals (including an empty netter) in Detroit’s 5-1 win against Dallas in Game 1 of their two-game series. He played on a line with Amadeus Lombardi and Hunter Johannes. “I love playing with him,” said Lombardi who assisted on both Doucet goals. “He’s a hard worker, he grinds but he also has a really good touch around the net. He’s a goal scorer but he also makes plays, he can find you around the net.”
