Detroit Red Wings draft pick Brady Cleveland‘s desire for a fresh start ended up providing him a do-over on a hockey decision he made a couple of years before.

When Cleveland decided to leave Wisconsin aisnd enter the NCAA transfer portal this spring, one of the first calls he received was from Colorado College. The Tigers had recruited before he opted to join Tony Granato’s Badgers team.

“I’ve known (associate coach) Peter Mannino for quite a few years,” Cleveland said. “He originally recruited me for Colorado College. There was already a connection there…Just talking to him a few times, I knew I wanted to go there. I think over the last few years there, they’ve built a lot over there. They’ve had better seasons every single year.”
