The first round of the NHL entry draft is to take place on Friday, June 28 in Las Vegas. At 15th overall, the Detroit Red Wings will be making their first-round selection. The status of Trevor Connelly as a top NHL prospect was emphasized again in the past week. He was among 46 U20 players that USA Hockey was extending an invitation to participate in the World Junior Summer Showcase.
When he arrives in Plymouth, Michigan for that international tourney later this summer, might Connelly find himself performing in the backyard of his future NHL home? That’s a possibility.
