“ a Hall of Fame GM who built the Red Wings into Stanley Cup champions.”? Holland road the coattails of a team already stocked with actual deserving Hall of Famers. The only Stanley Cup team Holland built was the ‘08 team. Considering how bad of shape he left the Wings in, how bad he is at retaining draft picks and then actually drafting players capable of playing in the NHL, the horrible negotiations that lead to every player seemingly getting a no trade clause, I wouldn’t want him anywhere near my team. As far as him being a Hall of Fame GM, Lanny and the gang messed the bed on that one.

Edvinsson and Petry seem to have a good rapport on and off the ice so I’d keep those together while Simon continues adjusting to the NHL. Where it gets interesting is 5-8.

Adding Watson or Ratcliffe is a waste of a roster spot.

Besides I don’t think they have room for an extra forward?

They’ll be carrying 3 goalies and 8 D.

Husso will be on the team and Johansson is out of waiver options.

I don't mind trying out a Simon/Mo pairing. Pre-season is the perfect time. Hopefully this is the long term plan. Simon seems to be a quick learner and he definitely has the tools to be a top pair D.

Bad News is already talking about Berggren being a defensive work in progress. But he loves a Czarnik and a Dries. No goals. One assist in 34 games for Czarnik. Play Kasper in those 34 games and Detroit makes the Playoff. Lalonde is a career killer. And Stevie does not field his best roster.

In reply to RWHockey13. Mazur has a very good chance to make it immediately, if not soon. That's because he plays a gritty style like Bertuzzi. We need more of that. Kasper maybe later in the year. Danielson needs a full year in GR.

In reply to Dale. How will we lose drafted players? This is not group sensitivity training. They have to earn the spot. I have seen Ma zur with the Griffs. Agree with the article Mazur will be a factor sometime this year. Maybe sooner than we think. He is a Bertuzzi type player
