He is a restricted free?agent he cannot sign with anybody else without the Wings getting compensation. Either he will earn a spot in the too nine or he?will be traded.

I hate Yzerman he is a punk . They should fire him he will never win a cup in Detroit. The way they treated this guy is a disgrace and it is ALL Yzerman..

Hopefully they’ll have some good chemistry and the trade talk to can die down. I also think this last season in GR was good for him. He was the go to guy, and scored some big goals in big situations. The biggest issue I saw in his game previously, was deferring too much to line mates,

Gordon not sure about that. Still there is a chance he gets traded. He is not a grinder so he has to be in the top nine. Also not sure you fire a coach or one player. Berry? Bergers has not really proven anything yet. I would say give him more of an extended opportunity or trade him. Maybe what you would get is a similar player from another team who has talent but has not been able to put it together.. Or maybe he is part of a bigger deal. It will be interesting to see what happens.

But SY saw him as a very good player and I concur! If Lalonde has a problem – replace Lalonde. I think Berry is going to have a very nice career here.

Ken I kind of agree. I dont think it was on purpose but you cannot blame him for wondering what he had to do? Im not sure I would sign a contract. Is his contract up after this coming year? If so, I think I would wait for unrestricted free agency. Then the choice to stay in Det or try somewhere else. He is not a fourth line grinder guy. He has hockey skills and might just prefer it somewhere else. I cant really blame him.

Started when they didn’t take him on the Sweden Trip. He found out then where he stood.
