In addition to Hagg’s injury, the Red Wings are dealing with Olli Maatta’s illness. Coach Derek Lalonde said Monday Maatta tested negative for Covid. However, he was well enough to practice Monday. Lalonde said he didn’t believe Maatta would be ready to play tonight at home against the Carolina Hurricanes.
The Red Wings haven’t provided any information about Hagg’s injury. His IR stay is retroactive to Dec. 8.
