Detroit Red Wings
Red Wings Prospect Report: Kasper is No. 1 in Our Top 15 (+)
Defenseman Simon Edvinsson fit well enough late last season in Detroit’s lineup that we no longer consider him a prospect. Likewise, Albert Johansson and Jonatan Berggren are no longer waiver exempt. They are not on the Detroit Hockey Now Red Wings prospect list.
With Detroit training camp just around the corner, we have put together our Top 15 Detroit prospect list. Here’s our rankings:
1. Center Marco Kasper (Drafted eighth overall in 2020)
It’s plausible Marco Kasper could make the Red Wings squad out of training camp. The Red Wings were impressed with how he played this season in Grand Rapids. He plays a feisty, strong all-around game. Kasper is not a No. 1 center, but he might be a No. 2 center. At the very least, he will be an effective NHL player.
